Hi. I’m a local homeowner (on Oak Island) and live primarily in Richmond, Virginia. I worked in animal welfare as Director of the Adoption Center for the Richmond SPCA from 2007-2010. Having recently inherited a home in this area, I am looking for ways that I can support animal welfare organizations here. I am interested in Major. We have a fenced in yard and looking for an older dog. We have a 3 year old Chihuahua and 3 cats. 18yr, 5 yr and 3yr old cat.The 3 yr old is three legged. Lost a front leg in a car fan in Georgia. I was working at Houston Vet Clinic when she came in and decided to help with her financial needs and then was going to foster her her but ending up keeping her. We live on Oak Island.

Though I will miss him a lot, I couldn’t be happier about my special friend Jackie the Cat finding himself a new home. He’d made real progress since coming to us all the way from JACKsonville back in 2011. Jack, I’m glad we got some good pets in last Friday. We had a great run at SOAR. Have a good life.

We recently lost our beloved dog and I have some heartworm medicine (Heartgard for 51-100 lbs) and Sentry Fiproguard (for dogs 45-88 lbs). Can you use or even accept these medications? I also have some shampoo and treats if you can use those as well. I would like to voluteer as well but am not sure if I can handle it quite yet.
